DO’s

1.        To paste laminate or veneer on WPC use Pidilite L-Fix,

Alstone Stix-All or 3m double sided tape or LOHMAN Double sided tape.

2.        Before pasting laminate etc. scrub the surface with 80 no. sand Paper.

3.        To paste two boards together or to paste two edges of WPC together , use cement solvent/ pvc solvent.

4.        To cover the edges of WPC Board, use PVC edge band tapes easily available in the market.

5.         To do deco paint or texture paint, first apply the PVC primer.

6.        Single side laminate pasting will cause 0.25 mm to 0.50 mm warping in shutter to avoid this should be at least liner laminate on the inside of the shutter.

7.        Store the WPC/PVC stock in horizontal position stacking only.

8.        For hinges in 30 mm or above door applications, use the screws only and not the nails.

9.        To cut the board use good brand electric saw e.g. Bosch skil available at Rs.2500 to Rs.3000

10.  To make wardrobes the maximum dimension of the shelf should be 3.5 feet by 1.25 feet. For more than this size there should be vertical supporting partition of 18 mm board in the middle of the shelf.

11.  Maximum length of the wardrobe shutter should be 7 feet only.

12.  Shelf and shutters should be made by 18 mm HYBRID board only.

13.  Wall paneling should be done with 6 or 8 mm ECO grade board.

14.  Use CNC machine to form jaali designs on PVC Boards.

DONT’S

1.    Do not use the ALSTONE WPC Board for linter shuttering civil work.

2.    Do not use nails on ECO grade board.

3.    Do not paint the board without the PVC primer.

4.    Do not use the normal FEVICOL SR adhesive to work with PVC/WPC boards.

5.    Do not put hot kitchen utensils directly on the PVC Boards as it will cause melting impressions if the temperature is more than 70 degree centigrade.

6.    Do not use laser cutter on the PVC boards as it will burn the board.

7.    Avoid using the PVC Board for horizontal applications e.g. table top without the laminate, as it develop scratches over a period of time.

1.              What is WPC and how it is made?

WPC is called WOOD POLYMER COMPOSITE BOARD. It is made by virgin polymer, rice/wheat husk discharged from mills and factories. WPC is made in completely automatic machine so that there is no variation in its size and thickness.

2.              Can we use WPC in sunlight? How long it will survive in sunlight?

Absolutely yes, WPC can be used to make structure in sunlight, it does not get spoiled in sunlight. Just paint or polish it in certain time intervals and it will remain new and strong for years. You can use weather coat paint or PU polish on WPC.

3.              Can we insert nail in WPC with hammer or screw is the only option?

Yes, we can use nail in WPC board. All type of screws and nails can be easily nailed with the help of conventional tools. WPC has better screw and nail holding capacity than plywood. Even you can screw and unscrew at the same position for more than 10 times, it does not gets loose.

4.              How WPC board is better than plywood and what is its characteristics?

5.              What is the correct way to screw WPC board?

Use full groove screw, keep screw straight and push it with screw driver little deeper in WPC board. Apply putty to level the gap.

6.              Can we paint or polish on WPC board?

You can paint or polish WPC board with any color of your choice. Before painting or polishing sand it with sand Paper and then clean it with cloth. Apply PUTTY on the edges   of the WPC board and let it dry to make it smooth. After drying start painting starting from the edges to surface.

7.              Can we paste acrylic sheet on WPC Board and how?

Yes, you can paste acrylic sheet on WPC board. First of all sand WPC surface with sanding paper and clean properly with cloth and then apply solvent on its surface and then paste acrylic sheet on it and keep pressed for min 1 hour.

8.              How to paste laminate on WPC board?

Pasting of laminate on WPC is easier than plywood.

Before the pasting sand the WPC surface with 80 grit sand paper and then apply Pidilite L-Fix, Alstone Stix-All on WPC and laminate both. Keep it some time to get dry and press it under heavy object. If you are pasting laminate on both sides then use same thickness laminate sheet.

9.              How to cut WPC board?

You can cut WPC with the traditional tools available with carpenter. All the tools like hand saw, circular saw, CNC cutter can be used to cut WPC panel.

10.       How to clean the furniture made with WPC?

You can clean WPC furniture with TARPEEN oil, water or any surface cleaner available in the market normally you can use water and detergent or wet cloth for daily cleaning.

11.       Can we make JALI on WPC board by using CNC router?

Making JALI with WPC board is the best part of its application. You can cut any design on WPC board with CNC router. Finishing of WPC JALI is better than MDF and stronger also.

12.       Can we use WPC JALI in tent house?

WPC JALI is widely used by tent house people. Since, tent is made in open area so it is better to use WPC JALI because it is 100% water proof material which does not spoils by water. WPC JALI is economical solution for tent house decoration because it can be used several times.

You can joint WPC with WPC by using solvent. To joint WPC with WPC first clean the sheet with cloth and then apply solvent on the WPC surface. Now put another WPC sheet on it and press with some heavy article. After applying solvent put another sheet quickly because solvent is cured very quickly one it gets pasted with solvent sheets can get separated and also not affected by water.

15.       Can we use WPC board in Bathroom?

Since WPC board is 100%water and termite proof material so it can be used in bathroom to make washbasin counter.

16.       Can we use spray paint or brush paint to paint the WPC board?

You can do spray paint or brush paint on WPC board very easily. Before painting sand it with sanding paper and then repair it with primer putty and after then let it dry for some time.

To use WPC board in false ceiling make channel base and cut 2x2 feet sheet of WPC and screw it with cannel and then paint it. You can use full sheet also to screw in cannel base.

You can do direct painting on WPC surface, also you can use laminate, veneer, PU polish, direct UV painting, edge banding and also cut different design with help of CNC cutter for partitions.

23.       How WPC is better than plywood in case of fire?

WPC board is fire retardant material, it does not help fire to get spread, it does not burn with flame. Whereas plywood support fire to spread because it burn with flame. So WPC is better option when you choose panel for fire prone area.
